History

The philosophy of PAB was born in mid-2007, of the continuous need to establish protocols for protein production by the research groups of Professor Marcius da Silva Almeida and Fabio Ceneviva Lacerda de Almeida.

 

The executive project of the PAB was designed in 2014, with the support of the CENABIO board of directors, under the mandate of Professor Adalberto Ramón Vieyra, and of the Institute of Medical Biochemistry Leopoldo de Meis, in the intersection of the terms of Professor Mario Alberto Cardoso da Silva Neto and Russolina Benedeta Zingali.

 

In September 2016, the project to create the PAB was put into practice with the beginning of the construction, with the support of the Dean of CCS, Professor Maria Fernanda Santos Quintela da Costa Nunes, from the President of UFRJ, Professor Roberto Leher, in addition to researchers, who signed the grant proposal awarded by FAPERJ: Sonia Maria Cabral de Menezes, Carlos Frederico Leite Fontes, José Ricardo Murari Pires, Patricia Hessab Alvarenga, Nuria Cirauqui Díaz, Mônica Santos Freitas, Eleonora Kurtenbach , Cristian Follmer, José Daniel Figueroa-Villar and Kurt Wüthrich.

 

The PAB was inaugurated in December 18, 2017.
